Train aficianados can now experience an overnight stay in an authentic, 19th-century caboose! This particular caboose, #22, was the last delivered to the Nevada Northern Railway, which was now over 40 years ago. At that time, #22 was considered to be state of the art, with all-steel sides and roller-bearing trucks.
Today, the Nevada Northern offers a number of train rides on historic engines, including the newly unveiled Caboose Overnight ride. Up to three people can stay in the caboose overnight for $125, or $185 to add a train ride. Imagine that, being towed around in your own lodging, before being dropped off for the night, back in the historic Nevada Northern rail yard! Guests that opt for this adventure in the caboose have access to the restrooms, showers and kitchen that are in the nearby Bunkhouse accomodations.
The creature comforts are minimal, but The Caboose promises to deliver an authentic and exciting experience. The Caboose has an oil stove, but offers no electricity or air conditioning, which makes for an ideal summer camping adventure!
Reservations are strongly encouraged, as availability is limited!
