Snow Mountain is the first of three Pete Dye designed courses at the Paiute Golf Resort and it’s typically considered the course to play. Covering over 7,100 yards, Snow Mountain is ideally suited to the natural desert setting, featuring expansive rye grass fairways, seven holes with water elements and thick rough all undulating through the native terrain. The course ranked in Golfweek Magazine’s “America’s Best Public-Access Courses for Nevada” in both 2005 and 2006, while the resort as a whole won a VegasGolfer fairway award for “Best Overall Experience” in 2004. Just 30 minutes from the Vegas Strip, Snow Mountain offers dazzling views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The course is ideally maintained and offers a traditional, enjoyable golf challenge in an off-the-beaten-path setting. And although the course is dotted with trademark Dye elements, including railroad ties and pot bunkers, Snow Mountain isn’t as impossibly challenging as some of his other courses. With its four tee options, players at varying skill levels will truly enjoy the course. Paiute Golf Resort also has a tremendously beautiful, adobe-style clubhouse with sumptuous amenities including a long marble bar, a separate smoking lounge and banquet rooms with enormous windows offering spectacular views of the lake-fronted 18th green.
