A Hawaiian Luau will be held at Ian Deutch Memorial (Honeysuckle) Park in Pahrump on Saturday, August 21. The Hawaiian dinner is the 8th annual fundraiser for the community’s United Way organization. There will be a traditional dinner of Kalua Pig, Chicken Long Rice, Teriyaki Chicken, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Salad and Haupia. Dinner will be served from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dinners will be $8.00 per plate. Hot dog and chips will be available for the kids for $2.00. Assorted drinks will be available to purchase. Hawaiian music will fill the air during dinner. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. The show features members from the Hawaii Dance Company of Las Vegas. Some local Pahrump residents are also members of the group. The torches will be lit and you will be treated to an enchanted evening of songs and dances of Polynesia. Then it will be your turn. There will be a lively hula dancing lesson for all that want to swing and sway. So bring your family and your chairs and enjoy the evening of South Pacific relaxation.
